Hunger:

Fortunately, most of us don’t know what real hunger is. . . but we certainly think we do.  Unlike most cleanse companies, we’re honest about this hunger thing. It is likely you will feel hungry at certain points during the cleanse. In fact, there may be times when you feel like you you’ve had enough and just can’t do it. Don’t worry, it will pass, we promise! We have found the following things help us through those “rough spots”:

  1. Breathe Deeply: Take about five minutes and breath deeply. Inhale and exhale through your nose. For you yogis, do some Ujjayi breathing, or gently pinch your right nostril and breath in and out of your left. This tends to quash hunger pangs.
  2. Get Outside: We find this really helps. Stop what you’re doing, go outside and take a brisk walk, even if it is just for 5 minutes.
  3. Brush Your Teeth: Not sure why, but it helps.
  4. Eat: Listen, no one is keeping score here. If you tried to breath, took a walk, brushed  your teeth and still feel like your stomach is going to cave in, then have a piece of fruit or a small green salad. Eat a cucumber! We do not want you to feel crazed. Relax, its OK. Often, just chewing for a few minutes on a couple slices of raw vegetable will be all you need.

Plan Ahead:

If you cook for your family, try to spend the least amount of time preparing food as you can. Plan ahead, make meals in advance that you can just “heat and serve”. Trust us on this one!

Sweat:

Sit in a sauna, exercise, whatever you need to do to sweat. This will help eliminate any built up toxins.

Schedule a massage:

Aside from feeling amazing, massage is great for the lymph system and stimulates toxic drainage. Make sure to check out our Karma Collaborators who offer discounts to Karma Cleanse clients.

Yoga:

Yoga is by far the best thing to do while you cleanse and aids in detoxification. There are some amazing yoga studios and instructors in our area, be sure to check them out on our Karma Collaborator’s Page.

Dry Brush:

You skin is the largest organ in your body. Dry body brushing will help open pores and shed dead skin cells. Use a firm natural-bristle brush. The process takes about three minutes and is best done before showering. Apply a gentle vigorous upward motion (always toward the heart). Start at the soles of you feet moving upward. Make certain to get behind the knees and armpits to stimulate lymphatic drainage. Many people swear by dry brushing for it’s detoxifying benefits and say it beats those expensive cellulite creams hands down.

Colonics:

Colonics can accelerate the cleansing process and alleviate some of the side effects by gently moving toxins out. Make sure to find a I-ACT Top Level Certified colon hydrotherapist and check out a wonderful local therapist on our Karma Collaborator’s Page.

Just Bounce:

Aside from being a great form of exercise, Rebounding not only increases muscle density, but also assists with lymphatic drainage. Rebounding reduces your body fat; firms legs, thighs, abdomen arms and hips. It can increase agility, improve your sense of balance and provide an aerobic effect for your heart.

Some benefits of rebounding include:
• 20 minutes of rebounding = 1 hour of running for cardiovascular workout
• Easy on the bones and joints (when using a therapeutic rebounder)
• Rebounding strengthens the heart muscle
• Profound body detoxification is possible
By working against constant gravitational pressure while bouncing, you resist Earth’s pull. Your resistance is subtle, but it builds cellular strength. Rebounding’s alternating weightlessness and double gravity produce a pumping action that pulls out waste products from the cells and forces into them oxygen and nutrition from the bloodstream.
